The 9th World Choir Games kicks off in about a week from now. The event known as "sochirussia2016" holds in the Russian black sea coastal city of Sochi, host city of the 2014 winter Olympics between, July 06 - 16, 2016.

The World Choir Games (previously known as the choir Olympics) is the biggest and best known choir competition is the world.
Organised by Germany based INTERKULTUR FOUNDATION for amateur choirs from all over the world, the games' motto is "singing together brings nations together".
Held biennially (every even year) in a selected city across the globe, the first games (known then as Choir Olympics) was held in the Austrian city of Linz on the 7th - 16th July, 2000. The event was renamed as World Choir Games in 2006 when the it was hosted in Xiamen, China on the 15th - 26th July, 2006. The next games is scheduled for the City of Tshwane, Gauteng province, South Africa between the 4th - 14th July, 2018.
